The applications of new technologies have played crucial drivers in fostering the economic efficiency of the shipping industry. In particular, the use of automation, artificial intelligence, blockchain, the internet of things, and other advanced technologies, providing for safer navigation and environmental protection. While current shipping policy facilitates the adoption of new technologies, the technologies and law that apply to green shipping management remain undeveloped.

The C.Y. Tung International Centre for Maritime Studies (ICMS) and the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (LMS, PolyU) organize the webinar on "New Technologies and Management for Greener Shipping" as an open forum for participants from the academics, industries, media, and government to explore these questions. Co-organizer includes the China Maritime Institute, Taiwan (CMI).

The Director of Five Oceans Maritime since the Company started. He is currently an executive committee member of the Hong Kong Logistics Management Staff Association. He was appointed Sector Specialist for Transport & Logistics by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic Qualifications until 30 June 2010. He specializes in the Belt & Road Initiative with his BRI General Theory (BRIGT) released on 22nd June 2018.
